The View From Here, 1st to 29th June

Jill Hudson painting of Plymouth Sound in muted shades of pink and grey

As part of our celebration of the Byre Gallery's 10th anniversary, we have invited our clients and visitors to suggest favourite views of the Rame Peninsula which our artists and makers can use as inspiration for new works. The resulting pieces - both visual and applied art - will feature in The View from Here, in the gallery and online from 1st June.

Gallery regulars Jill Hudson and Imogen Bone have already been busy and have produced some gorgeous new paintings inspired by images of our stunning corner of Cornwall. There are a few new works below along with some of the submitted photos.

We can also look forward to new work by visual artists Steven Buckler and Alice Robinson-Carter, as well as collections inspired by the photographs from ceramicist Anthea Bowen and jewellery designer Carin Lindberg.

Throughout our 10th anniversary year, we're also going to be introducing some new artists and makers; I'm delighted that we have Plymouth based Julie Ellis with us for The View From Here, and you can see one of her new works below.
